Herbal teas are more than just a warm drink — they're a ritual, a moment of calm in a busy day, and a gentle way to nourish your body. At Jens HillsPride, our herbal teas are crafted from the finest hill-grown botanicals, and brewing them correctly makes all the difference. Here's your complete guide to the perfect cup.
Step 1: Start with Good Water
Water quality matters more than most people realise. Use fresh, filtered water whenever possible. Avoid re-boiling water as it loses oxygen and can make your tea taste flat. For most herbal teas, heat water to around 90–95°C — just before a rolling boil.
Step 2: Use the Right Amount of Tea
For loose herbal tea, use 1 to 1.5 teaspoons per cup (approximately 200ml of water). Don't be shy — herbal teas are naturally caffeine-free, so a generous measure only means more flavour and more goodness.
Step 3: Steep for the Right Time
Unlike green or black teas, herbal teas are very forgiving. Steep for 5 to 7 minutes for a full-bodied flavour. If you prefer a lighter cup, 3 to 4 minutes works well. Cover your cup while steeping to trap the essential oils and keep the heat in.
Step 4: Sweeten Naturally (Optional)
Our herbal teas are naturally flavourful and often need no sweetener at all. If you prefer a touch of sweetness, try a small drizzle of our Nilgiris honey — it complements the botanicals beautifully without overpowering them.
Step 5: Sip Mindfully
Take a moment. Hold the warm cup, breathe in the aroma, and sip slowly. Herbal tea is best enjoyed without rush — it's your moment of calm in the day.
